The story takes place over four Acts as you travel the diverse world of Sanctuary, fighting demons, righting wrongs, etc., etc. Your objectives are always clearly marked as you progress through the fairly linear world. Quests add to the story, and the acts are broken up by impressive cinematic, but the story really is secondary to the game play.
